The person in charge of Dewatering is responsible for leading and directing the crew working on the process. These folks also have to maintain up with the water drainage system to make sure the water level is always lower than the mining depths.

In addition, it is their responsibility to ensure adequate water storage and access during dry seasons to meet seasonal dust suppression requirements. The Dewatering Supervisor's primary responsibility is the safe, effective, and efficient completion of all duties associated with the position.

Dewatering managers are responsible for coordinating and directing all activities related to the removal of water from building sites, mines, and other projects. The primary duty is to make sure the water extraction procedure is carried out properly so that the project's requirements are met.

Key Responsibilities Includes:

  • Create and keep up with mine dewatering procedures.
  • Keep the dewatering system's many moving parts (wells, pumping stations, piezometers, pipelines, transformers, power cables, etc.) in working order by coordinating regular maintenance.
  • Assess and reward or punish employees based on their performance, as appropriate.
  • Conduct investigations, conduct analyses, monitor documentation, and provide recommendations for preventing accidents, injuries, and equipment failures as appropriate.
  • Coordinate your future efforts with mine planning.  Help the Technical Services Division decide on the equipment's requirements.
  • Establish production priorities in conjunction with the mining and mill sections.
  • Work in tandem with planning and storage to provide prompt access to all materials required to finish tasks.
  • Communicate with the reps of various manufacturers.
  • Always keep an eye on the workplace to make sure everything is running smoothly and safely.
  • Report Timesheets, PTO requests, incident reports, and disciplinary action summaries all need to be processed.
  • Minimize costs and lost output with well-executed preventative maintenance and repairs, which will extend the life of your equipment.
  • Provides information and assistance on matters of health and safety, production, mechanical and electrical training, and supervisory skill development.
  • Collaboration with Maintenance Planners is essential for optimizing equipment use and minimizing downtime.
  • Assists in the training of other employees to take on the aforementioned responsibilities.
  • Observance of all corporate regulations, particularly those pertaining to safety, the environment, secrecy, and ethics.
  • Performs to or above the level required by management.
  • Displays sound judgment and prudence on the job.
  • Completed without endangering oneself or anybody else.
  • Valid state-issued driver's license in one's possession.
  • Regular and prompt attendance is expected.
  • Carry out any additional duties in a similar vein that may be imposed by a superior.
